PREMISE

Crystal Heart is an upcoming epic, whimsical, anime-inspired, 2D animated fantasy TV show with dark elements set in the world of Livernia. This world is not inhabited by humans. Instead, the inhabitants are split into four classes: Dragon, Natura, Origin, and Amalgam.

• Dragons are anthropomorphic while natura are humanoid creatures based on the flowers found around the world. Both live together lavishly in grand cities and kingdoms and are able to cast various magic depending on their species.

• Origins are humanoid beings based on both real life and mythical animals and creatures. They have no magical abilities and are oppressed by the dragons and natura. Many of them are slaves. Others live in small villages, forced to grow food for the upper classes. The bravest rise up and rebel.

• Amalgams are hybrids born of the forbidden love between origins and natura. They are viewed as unholy blights on society by all other classes. They are to be killed on the spot if spotted by anyone. As such, their numbers are low and on the brink of extinction.

The story (of the pilot) follows Orin Firis, a sheltered, optimistic dragon boy in search of adventure. He lives a good life in Syale Village where he goes on adventures with his sister, Lyn. One day, they adventure into the forest and discover a group of cultists. They stay hidden and listen in to discover something peculiar; the cultists are searching for Orin...

Crystal Heart delves into themes of militarism, religion, loss, revenge, hatred, and trauma. It’s intended for ages 12 and up.
